There Be Pirates Perform in The Manor House

California based band 'There Be Pirates' put on a stirring performance at the museum on Sunday. Visitors packed out the Manor House to see and hear the pirates' music performed, and to take part themselves, children of visitors were encouraged to provide backing music as drums and maracas were distributed among the audience. Below is a video of some of the show (sound quality is not great but it gives an idea of the fun) as well as some photographs of the Pirate band.

  1. Ahoy there,
Thank you to the Ryedale Folk Museum staff and visitors for such a delightful end for arrgghhhh second UK tour! We love bringing children into the music, and the intimate and friendly ambience provided at Ryedale. The fact that the museum is incredible to explore added to arrrgghhhh enjoyment (not to mention the smoked trout down at the local tea room!).
It was also a delightful 26th birthday fer Drummer Dave, one of the UK's best.
Thanks to all who came out, especially arrgghhhh friends who caught us at Danby Castle at arrgghhhh first UK gig this summer, and who re-joined us fer arrgghhhh last. We hope to return again next summer!
    Thankee kindly,
Shanghai Brown & the crew o' There Be Pirates!
